Member representing South East region on the Board of The North East Development Commission and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia State, Hon Sam Onuigbo has promised strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Hon Onuigbo while receiving defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party and New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, into the APC fold in Abia Central on Monday 12th May, 2025 said that President Tinubu is doing well in all areas of the economy, hence must be given the necessary support to ensure he succeeds.
The former member who represented Umuahia/Ikwuano federal constituency in the Green chambers of the National Assembly, apart from welcoming the defectors also performed the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Partners Support Group in a ceremony held at his Umuahia residence, which was attended by State officials of the APC, including the State Secretary Chief Chidi Afaja and zonal chairman Chief Lawrence Ukata among other notable officials and party faithful both at the state and local government levels who were in attendance at the event.
The Renewed Hope Partners is a political Support Group aimed at strengthening the support base, and reelection bid of President Tinubu. It’s the brain child of Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
While addressing the gathering Hon Sam Onuigbo expressed his pleasure in the rising popularity of APC in Abia State and South East region, attributing it to the great performance of President Tinubu. He said that Tinubu has been able to make giant strides in many areas of the economy, moreso, with the repayment of the IMF Loan.
Said Hon Onuigbo “we’re here to support Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda. President Bola Tinubu and the Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Ben Kalu are doing well. So, We’ll do everything possible to ensure that APC succeeds”.
According to Onuigbo President Tinubu is the leader that Nigeria deserves at this moment of our national life…a pragmatic leader of repute.
He also applauded Rt. Hon Ben Kalu for his vision in establishing the Renewed Hope Partners, stressing that the initiative not only mobilizes grassroots support, but also enhances the presence of the party in the Eastern region.
“Today, as we inaugurate the Renewed Hope Partners, Abia Central chapter, I must say that we’ve taken a necessary step to reciprocate the good works of Mr President and our son, the Deputy Speaker.
”We shall carry the message of the good deeds of our President and hope of greater things to come into the nooks and corners of our zone, Onuigbo stated.
Following their inauguration, Pastor Patrick Ikechi, the Coordinator of Renewed Hope Partners Abia Central pledged that the team would get into work immediately to mobilize broad support for the task ahead, assuring that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure that President Tinubu is re-elected for a second term in office come 2027. Among the defectors were a former commissioner of ABSIEC and NNPP house of assembly candidate for Ikwuano State Constituency, Enyinnaya Ezeri and Paul Nwachukwu.
